Use Camera Proof as Marketing

You already run a camera down the line. That footage is the single most persuasive marketing asset your business will ever produce, and most drain companies throw it away the second the job is done. A homeowner can't see roots wrapped through a clay joint or a belly full of grease. When you show them, the sale closes itself — nobody argues with the picture.

Before/after footage does three jobs at once: it's your best closer on-site, your best post online, and your best follow-up asset for the customers who said "let me think about it." Start capturing it on purpose, not by accident.

Capture it every time, with the same shots

Make it a step on the job, not a lucky grab. Same three shots, every call, so you always have usable footage.

Example capture routine

1) The problem: hold on the root mass, grease wall, or crack for 5 seconds. 2) The work: quick clip of the jetter or cutter running. 3) The result: the same spot, clear and flowing. Say the address-free context out loud: "This is the main line, about 40 feet out, before jetting."

Use it to close on the spot

Don't describe the problem — turn the monitor toward them. Seeing is what converts a "maybe" into a signed jetting job.

Strong

"See that white wall closing off the pipe? That's grease — that's why your kitchen drain keeps backing up. Here's the same spot after we jet it. That's what I want to get for you today."

Weak

"Your line's got some buildup in it. We should probably hydro-jet it. It'll run you a few hundred bucks."

Post the before/after everywhere

One good clip feeds every channel you have. Repurpose it — don't shoot for each platform separately.

Example Google Business post

"Roots had taken over this [City] sewer line (see the before). One pass with the jetter and it's flowing clear again — no digging required. Recurring backups? We'll camera it and show you exactly what's going on. Call [phone]."

Send the footage as your follow-up

For the customer who didn't book, the video does the follow-up for you. It's specific, it's their pipe, and it removes the doubt that stalled them.

Strong

"Hi [Name], here's the camera footage from your line today so you can see what we're looking at. That root intrusion will keep backing you up until it's cleared. Happy to get you scheduled this week — reply here or call [phone]."

Real example from the field

Econo Sewer & Drain builds a whole page around HD camera inspection, showing homeowners the actual video of what's inside their pipe — using the footage as proof and a closer instead of just a diagnostic tool.

Do this: add "capture before/after camera footage" to your job checklist today, and post your next clean before/after to Google Business and social this week.

Next up Step 21 — Turn Every Job Into a Review. Reviews rank you and close nervous customers. Ask every time — and coach the ask.
