Build a Page for Every Service & City

Google ranks pages, not businesses. If your whole site is a homepage and one "Services" page, you're competing for a handful of keywords and losing most of them. The fix: a dedicated page for every service you sell and every city you serve.

The pages every drain site needs

Example URL set

/drain-cleaning/
/emergency-drain-cleaning/
/hydro-jetting/
/sewer-line-cleaning/
/main-sewer-line-clog/
/camera-inspection/
/commercial-drain-cleaning/
/restaurant-drain-cleaning/

Then a page for every city

Add a /drain-cleaning-[city]/ page for each town you cover. The catch: they must be genuinely local, not the same paragraph with the city name swapped in — Google filters thin, duplicated pages.

Good city H1

"Drain Cleaning & Hydro Jetting in Springfield, IL — Same-Day Service for Clogged Drains and Main Lines"

Thin (skip this)

"Drain Cleaning Services" (identical on every city page, city name swapped)

The outline that ranks and converts

Use the same proven structure on every service page:

Page outline

1. Symptoms (the words customers use: "gurgling drain," "sewage smell")
2. Common causes (grease, roots, scale, bellied pipe)
3. How the service works (plain language + a photo or short video)
4. Snaking vs. jetting — when each is the right tool
5. What it costs ("most jobs fall between $X and $Y")
6. Before/after camera proof + reviews
7. Call now / Book an inspection — above the fold

Real example from the field

Roto-Rooter doesn't lump jetting into a generic services list — it runs a dedicated /commercial/water-jetting/ page with its own headline, use cases, and call button. That's the pattern to copy: one focused page per service, each earning its own ranking.

Link them together

Your broad /drain-cleaning/ page links down to each specific service, and each service page links to the relevant city pages and to camera inspection. That internal linking spreads ranking strength and steers visitors toward your high-value jobs.

Do this: list every service you sell and every city you serve. That's your page list. Build the highest-value ones first — hydro jetting, emergency, and your top two cities.

Next up Step 7 — Add a Camera-Inspection Page. Your biggest trust-builder and upsell — give it its own page with real footage.
