Your Google Business Profile has a Posts section most drain companies ignore. Google treats a profile that posts regularly as an active, real, local business, and active profiles tend to hold better map positions. It also gives a homeowner one more reason to call you instead of the guy above you who last posted in 2022.
The whole habit is 15 minutes a week. You already shoot before/after photos on jobs. Turning one of them into a post is the easiest marketing you'll do all week.
Make it a standing 15-minute slot
Pick a time, Friday morning after the week's jobs are done, and protect it. One photo, three sentences, done. The consistency matters more than the polish. A steady drip of posts beats one great post and then silence.
Calendar entry, every Friday 8:00am: "GBP post — grab one before/after from this week's jobs, name the city, add the phone number."
Always name the city
Rotate the city you mention so your profile keeps signaling the whole area you serve. This week Tucson, next week Marana, then Oro Valley. It teaches Google where you work.
"Cleared a fully blocked kitchen line for a homeowner in Oro Valley this morning. Snake wouldn't touch the grease, so we hydro-jetted it back to bare pipe. Same-day service across the Tucson area — call (520) 555-0142."
"Another great job done! Call us today." No city, no service, no photo. Google learns nothing and neither does the reader.
Rotate a few post types so you never stare at a blank box
Keep a short menu and cycle through it. You'll never run out of things to post.
Week 1: before/after jetting photo, name the city.
Week 2: a quick tip ("grease is the #1 cause of kitchen clogs we jet in [City]").
Week 3: a camera-inspection find ("found root intrusion on a [City] sewer line").
Week 4: a seasonal reminder ("book your restaurant's quarterly jetting before the [City]
holiday rush").
Add the call to action every time
End with what you want them to do and the number to call. Use the post's button to link your booking or call page.
Google's own guide to adding updates on your Business Profile confirms posts appear directly on your profile in Search and Maps. That's free real estate on the exact screen where a homeowner is choosing who to call.
Do this: block a recurring 15-minute slot this Friday and post one before/after photo that names a city and your phone number.
Don't want to do this yourself?
We'll set it up and run it for you — this step and the rest of the plan — so you can stay on the truck. Built for jetting and drain-line companies only.
